CPH MARATHON 2024 – with two bend ribs…

The crash at Vikingesporet 2024 came with a bad effect, aside from a small concussion and some inter-rib muscle damage.
Two bend ribs and pain.
Had to use some painkillers before bedtime every day, as I woke up from the pain, everytime I turned.
Gave me some issues with breathing…

Picked up the running BIB and official event-bag friday, two days before the race. So was ready with everything a day in advance.

Start was a bit rushed, as I arrived 30 minutes later than planned.

Managed to find place in a group a little slower than wanted finish-time.

Went out slow on the marathon, trying to be sensible and conservative.
Worked quite well.
I could feel that I needed the long runs at around 28K and after 32K it was just a question of mental will to keep pushing.
My luck was, that my favorite My turned up several times, cheering me on.

That was hartwarming and kept my spirits high.
She is a a gem.
The last 3K was getting a little slower than average, but in general I managed to keep the pace below 5:20.
Official timing was 3:45:25 but I suspect something is wrong in how they meassure…

Fueling went ok and also hydration.
Its always a problem getting enough hydration, but this time it was a lot closer to perfect.
Weather turned out to be perfect during the run.
But right when the run ended, the rain began.
And it came down a lot!!!
